Noel Kirkaldy, Director of Wireless Broadband for Motorola Networks in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) spoke enthusiastically about WiMAX in a recent ITweb article.
WiMAX’s greatest perk according to Noel? Mobility. With mobility being a key component to recent technological advancements, the mobile potential WiMAX offers makes it a particularly desirable investment. This is reflected in recent statistics quoted in the article, “which shows new spend (ie, new infrastructure investments) on WiMax technologies will overtake fixed WiMax this year, and comprise 70% of new spend by 2010.” Motorola clearly feels that the market will follow through on these investments–with WiMAX’s potential proving to be a timed response to recent technological trends.
